cheeky smiles

My heart explodes with love for this child. I look at these photos and can't choose which one I like best. In the first, he has his Papa's crow's feet. It's one of my favorite features on Z, and it really shows when he smiles. The second, pure joy. He's so happy most of the time and so excited to discover new things. The third is a more calm and content happiness, but it's so sweet and serene that it gives me goosebumps!

Teething

Resting his head on Zak's belly while he eats some squash bread.

standing man

3/365

Odin's getting pretty good at pulling himself up. There are lots of surfaces at my mum's that are the perfect height to pull himself up with. It's sort of funny to try and frantically baby proof coffee table tops and anywhere else he's starting to reach. Sometimes we miss something and that something will immediately find itself in Odin's mouth (like my camera-computer connector).

a fussy teether's day

If you look ever so closely at our recent photos, Odin's top teeth have finally broken through the gum. The ones beside the two top teeth are about to do the same. For the past few weeks, we've had quite the fussy little babe. Sometimes it's so difficult to stay patient, but I try to continually remind myself that this little boy is going through a lot. So many teeth all at once is a lot for someone who has never felt this sort of pain before. Teething for us has meant many cuddles and much nursing, even throughout the night. Thankfully, I have a wonderful man who is constantly trying to help and loves this little boy just as much as I do.

teefers

These teeth! So cute. His top two are destined to pop through those gums any day now. He's having a rougher time with the top ones than he did with his bottom teeth, but it hasn't been too bad. He just wants to snuggle and nurse, which we already do all the time!

the cutest.

I really loved your gummy grin, but I think your toothy smile is just as cute.

banana

I am planning to wait until Odin is 6 months old to give him solid foods but we have been letting him taste test since his little teeth sprouted through his gums. I really think we're going to go with the Baby Led Weaning method, It seems so natural and "right" to me. From what I've read, BLW is really just allowing baby to eat solids at their own natural pace. When babe has teeth, can sit upright, and can pick up bits of food and bring them to their mouth on their own. This just seems to make so much sense! Since little man is starting to sit upright already (and definitely has two little teeth) we gave him a bit of banana yesterday. He would've had an easier time with picking the pieces up and bringing them to his mouth if only banana was a little less slippery!

Teething Bebe.

Those two bottom teeth have the drool-faucet gushing! Luckily, little man doesn't seem too affected by the incoming teefies. He's actually been much more giggly than usual on top of his new form of communication which involves heavy flailing and loud screeches. It's pretty adorable.

First Tooth

So, he officially has his first tooth. Zak and I tried hard to feel it last night and it was definitely under the gum still. This morning I checked again and there was this sharp little tooth poking out from Odin's bottom gum. I can't believe it! So, now I'm about to purchase an amber teething necklace for the babe. This tooth has been a breeze but I've heard horror stories about those top teeth!

My Little Gnaw-blin!

Mister man is getting his first teefers in, I think. He likes to gnaw on anything in close proximity to that little mouth. Poor little stingray/cat/mouse. A gift from our friend Grace is his choice of teether today!
