painting with daisies

I know my babies are both only a year old and that free play is deeply educational at this stage of development, but I love doing projects and think that they offer even more discovery. This morning, a friend of mine posted on my Facebook page about a lovely project. The babies and I pick flowers every other day, so a project involving said picked flowers was very exciting to me! You simply offer flowers and paint and let them dip and stamp or brush. This project could definitely be adapted for older kiddos to make flower prints with a variety of plants and colors. The babes loved it and made some beautiful pieces.

And what better way to end a painting project than with some water play. What are your favorite arts and crafts to do with the wee ones?

  1. Oh that looks like so much fun for little ones! We do a lot of painting but I've never used flowers as brushes before. I bet my older kids would love that too. Thanks for sharing the idea.

    1. They're great for prints too! My little ones didn't quite grasp the idea but Paloma was great at stamping! Odin preferred to fingerpaint.

  2. I'm going to do this with Elliot! He is absolutely obsessed with art and it makes me so happy. I literally have books and books of carefully constructed scribbles. Also, these photos are absolutely gorgeous, Michelle!! <3
