Nantucket daffodils

Every year, Nantucket celebrates Spring with a huge made-up holiday- Daffodil Day. The daffodil is Odin's flower because he was born the day before the daffodil parade on Daffy weekend of 2012. Every year over three million daffodils bloom on our little island. The "holiday" originated in the 70's and many of the flowers were brought to the island then. It's an interesting addition to the spring and makes for some prime picnic spots. I like gauging the time of year by the flowers that are in bloom, there are so many varieties and they're all so lovely. I love making bouquets and crowns from all the flowers Zak brings me on his way home from work. <3

The daffodils are slowly starting to disappear as it grows warmer so we decided to try and enjoy them fully today while we had the opportunity. Soon all the daffodils will be gone and will be replaced by galaxies of daisies. Those are my favorite and I'll be making myself and Odin fresh daisy crowns daily.
