Christmas with Nana and Nana T

This was my first year spending Christmas away from my family. It was much harder than I thought it would be but I managed (through way too many tears) and was able to celebrate with them when I arrived in Florida earlier this month.

We woke up at my mum's house, everyone had stayed there like we usually do on Christmas Eve. We all had coffee, while Odin and Kira sipped on their hot cocoas. They both received the loveliest gifts and spent the entire morning reading and drawing together before we set out to my Nana's. The festivities at my Nana's are always wild and so much fun. This was much more casual, but just as enjoyable! I miss my family so much, I can't wait for my sisters to visit.

Florida

Visiting family in Florida always makes me feel so at ease. This trip has been filled with work mixed with loads of family time and although Zak and I are going a little crazy with all the time indoors, we're loving our time here. Odin has absolutely adored his time with cousin, Kira. We love watching them play and the time we've spent with my family, I only wish it wasn't so short. When you only get to see your family every few months, two weeks is just not enough at all. We spent lots of time at my mom's and every so often would make a special trip elsewhere where we would play with new friends or shop at a mall or play with a giant pink ball given to us by a complete stranger. Every trip to visit my family is filled with special moments I couldn't possibly forget. I so wish we lived closer and maybe one day (hopefully one day soon), we'll end up living a few states further south. New York seems like a grand adventure but the more I think about it, the more I'd love to live a little closer to my family so that a weekend or week long trip wouldn't seem nearly as impossible.

Florida Mushroom Hunting

This morning we went on a mushroom hunt. I've been working on my Valentines Cards and the poor boys have been cooped up inside because of it. It rained last night so mushroom hunting was the obvious thing to do. We headed out to a park that we frequented when my sisters and I were children. Zak and I (and Odin) found quite a variety and Odin has the time of his life helping us look while fighting off the air with his stick swords. When he grew tired, he hopped up on mama's back and after the first mile, switched over to papa's so that I could take some photos. Nothing makes this boy happier than romping around outside, and nothing makes me happier than knowing that.
