Fall Moments

Fall's slowly starting to end and winter is beginning. Yesterday, it was absolutely frigid and we stayed inside all day long. As the warmer Fall days begin to dwindle, we'll have to really take advantage and head outside every opportunity we have. Inside time won't be too difficult, because I've been stocking up my Pinterest with crafty ideas and am eager to drink hot tea and cider every night and bundle up with Zak and Odin for any short venture we may have. There's nothing more rewarding than taking a winter walk and coming back home and shedding those layers, basking in the comfort of our gigantic bed. What are your favorite winter activities?

Kittens, Week 5

The kittens are all getting very big and very active. They're almost ready to go to their new homes, but I'm not sure I'm ready to say goodbye. These little cuties run amuck at all hours and it's very endearing. I'm going to miss laying in bed and having kitten after kitten jump the couch and wrestle all over us. I've grown so attached to each and every one, not like it's hard to fall in love with a pile of kittens.

Halloween

We had a very mellow Halloween this year. We had pretty epic plans, but Odin refused to wear his costume so we had to scrounge around and find some piratey looking clothes for him to wear. Next year, though, we're going all out!

happy birthday, little ones

Last night Caligula birthed five precious little kittens. We're absolutely smitten. We're giving her and her littles some space before we figure out which are boys and which a girls. Expect more photos soon!

A fresh look

Last night I doodled some in my sketchbook in order to make a new header and side bar for the blog. I've been separating a lot of my art posts and life posts into two separate blogs, which honestly is silly. I'm not an artist separately from a mother, I am both rolled into one. That is a realization I've just recently been able to come to and I'll write up a post in more detail about that soon.

From now on, I'll be posting everything here and for those that are only interested in my art posts, there's a handy little button on the side of the blog that you can click and will guide you to all of my art posts specifically. I will keep my art blog up and update it from time to time, but it will be used as more of a portfolio space.

I hope everyone likes the (slightly) new look and and feedback is more than welcome.

busy weeks

So, in order to stay home with Odin this summer and still make some extra income, I've started watching a couple other babies. It's pretty exhausting honestly but I'm happy I'm available for Odin. He still nurses constantly and rarely eats solid foods so this was important for both of us. I have Paloma every weekday and one other boy two days a week. Paloma and Odin are only a week apart and both home birth babies, so they've been on the same schedule for the past few weeks. It's nice to have two babies sleeping peacefully twice a day, it makes me feel very accomplished! It's been a lot of fun so far and I'm excited to see how the rest of the summer goes.
