Florida

Visiting family in Florida always makes me feel so at ease. This trip has been filled with work mixed with loads of family time and although Zak and I are going a little crazy with all the time indoors, we're loving our time here. Odin has absolutely adored his time with cousin, Kira. We love watching them play and the time we've spent with my family, I only wish it wasn't so short. When you only get to see your family every few months, two weeks is just not enough at all. We spent lots of time at my mom's and every so often would make a special trip elsewhere where we would play with new friends or shop at a mall or play with a giant pink ball given to us by a complete stranger. Every trip to visit my family is filled with special moments I couldn't possibly forget. I so wish we lived closer and maybe one day (hopefully one day soon), we'll end up living a few states further south. New York seems like a grand adventure but the more I think about it, the more I'd love to live a little closer to my family so that a weekend or week long trip wouldn't seem nearly as impossible.

Christmas Day

This year was my first time spending the holidays away from my family. It was a rough few days, but being with my second family helped me adjust. We had a very low key day with Zak's parents in their beautifully decorated home. We had the most amazing dinner and time well spent with Aunts and cousins and our Meme. Our beautiful doll from our dear friend Angelica from Thunderclouds of Love also appeared on Yaya's doorstep Christmas morning. It was a beautiful day and made me even more excited to have a second Christmas with my family in Florida.

Snow Day

I grew up in Florida and didn't see snow for the first time until I was about 16. The first snow fall I saw was at a ski resort, you know, the snow that they make when it's cold enough to actually work. I love experiencing the snow with Odin, as we are both equally awe-inspired and today was no exception. He woke up from his nap and looking out the window started to shout "Snow! Snow!" (which sounds more like "No! No!") and after making a few sheets of wrapping paper with his papa, we bundled up to go play in the field.
