a walk in squam//mycology

Today is the first day of babywearing week. As you know, we're pretty big fans of all sorts of carriers over here. As a recent alumni of the Sling Diaries we love love love our sling. Odin's a bit big for it now I think, but as I babysit all week they still get plenty of love. It's still O's favorite carrier and he's constantly asking me to wear him in the sling. It's his favorite way to cuddle when he sees his mama running around like a wild woman. On longer walks, we've recently started to really use our Tula and it's the most amazing toddler carrier. My 30 pound boy is practically weightless in it! Zak even got to wear him yesterday as we walked through Squam and was able to steal a cuddly nap. I've been getting all of those recently because Odin has been needing to nurse to sleep, so I think Z really enjoyed it.

In other news, Zak and I have been taking a local Mycology class with Nantucket Mushrooms. It's been ridiculously fascinating to grow our own mushrooms and the instructor, Todd, is awesome. I'll post some photos of the ones we've been growing sometime soon but today we went out in search of Black Trumpets (they're so delicious!). The spots where Zak had foraged for them before were bare so we just enjoyed our walk and photographed the mushrooms we found along the way.
