Before I had the chance to slice Odin's snack, he attempted to devour the entire thing. Handing him the apple to entertain him while I packed the diaper bag, he very unexpectedly started chewing away- skin and all. This is the first time he's been so daring, maybe he was just hungry. It was surprising nonetheless!

our walk
I recently read a post that really resounded with me from the blog, Verse. We just recently moved and I miss our walk already. We used to walk the bluff walk pretty often. A majority of our photos are from that path and the playground at the end of it. I walked that walk the many days at the end of my pregnancy. I walked that walk on my due date hoping to get things moving and a few hours later I went into labor! It's the first walk little Odin went on wrapped in the Moby wrap near my heart. We walked that path through summer days to the beach, winter days wrapped in layers to the swing-set, Spring days to both picking flowers along the way. I miss it.
I think it's time to work on a new route. A new path to make memories on. We were going to try a new walk out tonight but the sky was dark grey and the breeze was cold (the kind of cold that comes before a rain) so we'll have to try again tomorrow. I'm excited to start a new path and finally feel settled into our new home.
The french doors belong to our downstairs apartment. The cat outside our front door is Caligula and the black cat is her friend Pippin. The orange bug is not mine, it's Zak's mum's, but one day I'll have one like it!
Lizzy
Today we had lunch in town and met with Lizzy in the library park. She gave Odin a few beautiful birthday gifts (an adorable stuffed badger and a pop-up version of The Lorax!!), and we are so grateful! I love when our friends look at Odin as a part of their family. He holds some of our friends so close and it's nice to see that a few of them return the love. <3
May
It's already May. 2013 is already breezing past. There's still so much to do and I feel as if I really need to get motivated. After Odin's eventful birthday week, we've had a relaxing first week of May so far. Lots of lazing around, playing with new toys, meeting with friends at playgrounds, exploring our garden, and planting some new seeds. Flowers and basil! Odin received an awesome recycled plastic planter set which Zak was pretty giddy about. Odin mussed the dirt while mama planted the seeds and together we put it outside our front door. I'm so glad Spring decided to flood in the way it did. I swear, a week ago I was still using the heater and now it's been leave-the-door-open kind of weather! I love Spring and I'm filled with happy memories of newborn chub and cuddles whenever I nurse Odin or wear him in the sling. It's heavenly.
